How much time will you waste on email in 2013?

Email is a massive time-waster. On average each of us spends an hour a day dealing with unnecessary emails – that’s on top of the time it takes to deal with emails that are important. On top of this another hour each day is spent in “attention shift” – the time we waste in switching between work and email. In short, email is eating up your working day without you realising it.

It is time to stop this nonsense…!

In the coming year the economic picture is going to remain bleak for most people. Spending at the end of 2012 is down, footfall into retail stores is down – both indications of the fact that people are further tightening their belts. Some businesses are doing well, of course, but many are still struggling. The result in the next year will be increased competitiveness and a range of forces driving down prices. And even if your business is doing brilliantly and your sector is not in the economic doldrums you will have a problem in 2013 – lack of resources. You will only be able to retain competitiveness by maintaining a grip on your costs. Either way, 2013 is going to be a year when you need to be at your most productive.

Yet, just at the time when you need to be fully productive and efficient you are going to have to deal with even more email, wasting more of your time.

You need to manage your email…fast..!

The people who are most efficient with email have been shown to be those who do two things:

  1. They only check their email once a day
  2. They always have an empty inbox at the end of each day

If you want to ensure your year ahead allows you to deal with email efficiently and effectively these are the two key things you need to work towards. But how…?

On 10th January 2013 at 1pm I shall be running an online webinar on how you can “Tame Your Inbox and Manage Your Email“. Don’t worry if you cannot attend – the event will be recorded and you will be able to download the recording – though you will need to book a ticket to do that.

Join me on 10th January 2013 and look forward to a year ahead which allows you to be fully productive with your email. The webinar will include case histories and examples which demonstrate how the once-a-day principle with emails improves your ability to work.
